Seamus keeps us laughing. We made sock puppets and he insisted on wearing his on his foot. I guess it IS a sock (puppet).
Yesterday was a very sad day.  We said goodbye to our friend and daycare provider, Katey.  For three years she has loved Seamus and cared for him as if he was her own.  He was six weeks old when he started going to her house.  Now that he is starting preschool, he won't be going to her anymore.  So it's very bittersweet.  It's so great that he is starting preschool, but so sad that he won't be going to Katey's.  I keep consoling myself with the fact that we didn't move away (and neither did she) and that we can come and visit.  She's a real gem and we were so lucky to have found her.

In other news, Seamus continues to be a total riot.

He told Jim that he had a spiderweb on his face.  Jim looked in a mirror and saw a grey hair.

Seamus tooted in the tub and begged Jim to "clean the fart out of the water."  He was standing up, pointing at the water and very distressed.  I had to go in there, drain the tub for 1.8 seconds, and tell him it was all gone.  Then I gave him Eve's new rubber duck from the dentist.

That night he INSISTED that he get to sleep with his Bigfoot doll.  When I went to take this picture he said, "Say cheese, Bigfoot!"
We're all looking forward to our first days of school on Wednesday.  Pictures and stories to follow...

Update:
I forgot to mention he had his 3 year well-visit at the beginning of the month.  He was 37  inches (40th percentile) and 31 lbs (43rd percentile).

Family Visit

My brother and his family came for a visit in early August. I've been too lazy to post pictures until now.  Anyhow, it was a fantastic visit (other than my youngest nephew getting sick).  Seamus was over the moon to be hanging out with his cousins.  I always love to see my brother and sister-in-law,  and it was so great of them to make the trip up here (they traveled about 9 hours).

Even JoJo got to hang out!

Jim let Seamus take a picture with our camera:
Here is the result:

We're already looking forward to the next time we get to see them.  Every visit always seems too short.

random seamus sayings

The other night, Seamus was looking for the queen doll.  He asked me where was the "mommy king."

Right now, he is in the bathtub.  I can hear him shouting to Jim, "Play the bongos! Play the bongos!!"  He often does this while pounding on his bare tummy.  I have no idea why he started doing this or why he loves to do it.  But it's funny in a "please don't do this when you're 10" kind of way.
